Warner's secret to popularity
I love that Warner gets to dealin' with his finance chief and two Republicans at "the governor's mansion, where the four drank Wild Irish Rose and Schlitz Malt Liquor and ate from a box of Slim Jims until late into the night". Wow, that rocks. How many other millionaires drink Schlitz, Wild Rose, and eat Slim Jims?
I don't think we'd be seeing this from Howard Dean or Hillary. Maybe the President. Not John Kerry. I'm thinking whoever is more likely to drink Schlitz wins big elections. Reagan over Carter, Mondale. Bush over Dukakis. Clinton over Bush, Dole. Bush over Gore, Kerry.
We gotta get more Dems drinking some Schlitz, I'm going to get a case now. I'm glad I had some training for this in school.
Warner vs. McCain in 2008 -- McCain wins on Wild Rose, Warner on the Schlitz. It all comes down to the Slim Jims.

Hmmm...I'll give you you Reagan over Mondale, but Reagan over Carter? You think Reagan (California actor, born in Ohio [or some such Midwestern state]) was more likely to partake in Schlitz, Slim Jims, etc. than a peanut farmer from Georgia? I don't know about that.
I hear what you're saying and gave some thought to that one - but people that wear cardigan sweaters just don't drink Schlitz. Kinda like how people that still have John Kerry stickers on their car just aren't accomplishing anything. Reagan played football as a kid and started out as a sports announcer, so he must have drank some malt liquor in his day.
Can you make liquor from peanuts?
NOW he wears cardigans and the like, but back in the day? You don't think Hollywood types wear more cardigan sweaters (and equivalents) than Georgians?
I'm sure you can make SOME kind of liquor from peanuts...you might go blind, but you'll be drunk too!
