25 Mind-Numbingly Stupid Quotes About Hurricane Katrina

Read it here. Most incredible to me:
"Last night, we showed you the full force of a superpower government going to the rescue." –MSNBC's Chris Matthews, Sept. 1, 2005
Matthews is not only a fat, arrogant, self-righteous excuse for a journalist... he's also an idiot.

Those are great! My favorite is Rick Santorum blaming the victims for staying. Is he talking about the newborn babies? Maybe the people in nursing homes? Or maybe he means the people with no cars or money or means to evacuate. Isn't he, like, Christian, or something?

Quotes 9, 12 and 13 are my favorites. That Congressman who said 13 might not want to come back to LA anytime soon.

Also, hooray for Anderson Cooper (who I generally don't have much use for) for calling out Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and giving her hell for her bullsh*t self-congratulatory spiel.

If one thing results from this catastrophe, it may be that the press got their balls back and will stop just reporting from politicians' press releases.

My favorite didn't make the list:

"I'm going to go home and walk my dog and hug my wife, and maybe get a good Mexican meal and a stiff margarita and a full night's sleep." –FEMA Director Michael Brown, on his plans after being relieved from his role managing Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, Sept. 9, 2005 (Source)

I am sure all the hungry, thirsty evacuees who have lost their family members will be glad to know he is getting a good mexican meal and drinking a margarita.
